Te Kāreti o ngā Kaiwhakawhānau ki Aotearoa | New Zealand College of Midwives and Ngā Maia Māori Midwives ō Aotearoa have a long history of working together to support midwifery in New Zealand.

A partnership agreement has been created: to formalise the relationship between Ngā Maia and the College, to enhance and facilitate the aims of each organisation, and to ensure equitable outcomes for wāhine hapū and whānau Māori.

New Zealand College of Midwives recognise Ngā Maia Trust – Māori Midwives ō Aotearoa as the Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner within each respective rohe. Rohe are made up of iwi and hapu.

This partnership and mutual agreement have the best interest of each other’s organisations at heart.
